Is there anyway to make my hair thicker?

I have extremely thin hair and I hate wearing it in pigtails because it just looks weird. I have really sticky outy ears. I was wondering if there's any product perhaps that can help this problem or any way for my hair to appear thicker and not have my ears poke out of my hair. Thanks!
