Ford ka 1998 second gear issues!?

It could be a thrust bearing problem on the clutch, or maybe a worn synchro hub in the gearbox, i know you dont want to take it to a garage but it may well be the easiest option to diagnose your fault, no back street garage should charge you for this, anyone can only guess on here with that fault, driving the car is the only way to find this problem
