Is it smarter to trade in my 02 jeep grand cherokee limited for something else? read more!!!?

The jeep is paid off already it has 95,000 miles, i paid 15,000 for it a while ago.The transmissions going I was told (it jerks when gear shifts in reverse, I've tried everything else motor mounts/ fluid/ joints) and the wheel bearings bad. Iam a handy man so I can fix most of this stuff myself. But I don't want to lose too much money on this , if I get something else. should i trade it in.I was thinking of a car for gas and stuff. What would be a wise decision? Its mostly about the money to me!
